$11B DoD EHR bid coming to an end

It's the last chance for potential bidders for the Department of Defense’s $11 billion contract to replace its EHR system to submit an application.

The previous Oct. 9 deadline was extended to Oct. 23, according to FedBizOpp, a website that contains the federal government’s contract opportunities.

At least four groups of bidders announced their participation, including:

  • IBM and Epic
  • Intermountain Healthcare and Cerner
  • Computer Sciences Corp., Allscripts and Hewlett-Packard
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers, General Dynamics DSS and MedSphere

The selection is expected in the third quarter of fiscal year 2015.
