Prematics, Availity extend contract

E-prescribing and care communication services company Prematics has entered into a multi-year contract extension with health information exchange (HIE) company Availity.

Availity offers Prematics’ e-prescribing services under the CarePrescribe private label. Per the terms of the agreement, Prematics will continue providing e-prescribing services to Availity through 2013, and add its care communication services for existing and future CarePrescribe users, McLean, Va.-based Prematics stated.

Currently, more than 2,000 providers in Florida and Texas use CarePrescribe, according to Prematics. With this agreement, Availity of Jacksonville, Fla., expands its deployment to providers in Kentucky.
