Penn health system partners with MobileMD for HIE

Health information exchange (HIE) service provider MobileMD and Holy Redeemer Health System, based in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., have partnered to provide HIE services to Holy Redeemer and its healthcare provider community.

Holy Redeemer Health System will use MobileMD technology and services to connect its hospital, home healthcare, long-term care facilities and its physicians and affiliated physicians, the Warminster, Pa.-based MobileMD stated.

Under the agreement, MobileMD will deploy its 4D HIE, which is comprised of MobileMD’s 4DX Intelligence Engine and 4DX Enterprise Access (4DX EA); both designed to improve critical care information flow across the Holy Redeemer provider network.

For physician practices currently using an EMR product, protected health information (PHI) will be integrated into the disparate EMRs used across the physician community, MobileMD stated. For physician practices that have not yet implemented EMR technology, the company stated that 4DX EA will provide a web-enabled, secure “EMR-lite” designed to facilitate the communication of and access to critical PHI, regardless of location or system of PHI origination.
