Midwestern system signs Medicity for HIE

DeKalb, Ill.-based KishHealth System has selected Medicity's suite of health information exchange (HIE) products to improve care in its community, promote hospital-physician alignment and establish an infrastructure for connecting the health system to HIEs in the region and across the nation.

Using Medicity's Novo Grid technology, KishHealth will electronically exchange results, reports and other patient data with both paper-based and EHR-enabled practices in its community, according to Medicity, of Salt Lake City. Kish will begin this effort by integrating with NextGen and GE Centricity EHRs.

The Novo Grid technology will also enable community physicians to submit orders electronically to the health system, Medicity added.
