Michigan network enhances Medicity HIE infrastructure

Nonprofit organization Michigan Health Connect will adopt  Medicity’s health information exchange (HIE) infrastructure for its next stage of HIE development.

MHC will implement the HIE suite, including ProAccess Community and MediTrust Cloud Services, to build on its existing investment in Medicity's Novo Grid technology, according to the Salt Lake City-based company.

The Grand Rapids-based MHC has already deployed results delivery, laboratory and radiology ordering and EHR interfaces to physician practices and has implemented technology to enable referrals between practices. MHC will be able to aggregate and match patient data to create longitudinal patient records through the technology, added Medicity.

Insurer Aetna this week announced the completion of its acquisition of Medicity for $500 million.
