Lawson Software buys HIE, systems interoperability provider for $160M
Lawson Software has agreed to acquire Healthvision Solutions, through the acquisition of privately held Quovadx Holdings, its parent holding company. Healthvision provides integration and application technology and related services to hospitals and healthcare organizations.
The all-cash transaction of $160 million is subject to regulatory approvals and expected to close this month, according to Lawson.
Dallas-based Healthvision said its Cloverleaf integration technology connects disparate software applications and technologies used in healthcare organizations. Combined with Lawson’s healthcare enterprise software, the St. Paul, Minn.-based Lawson said the acquisition will enable it to connect multiple source systems and provide healthcare providers with access to clinical, financial and operational information.
Healthvision, founded in 1989, has nearly 300 employees in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and China. Healthvision has two product lines, in addition to the Cloverleaf integration technology. The company markets a health information exchange platform, and also targets the Canadian healthcare market with its MediSuite products, a suite of provider applications for laboratories, EHRs, patient management, clinical department systems and public health and community care.
