Idaho health network to provide HIE services
North Idaho Health Network, a health system based in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and MobileMD have reached an agreement to provide health information exchange (HIE) services to the medical community throughout Idaho's five northern counties.
North Idaho Health Network will use MobileMD's turnkey technology and services to establish a regional HIE and data repository providing connectivity and interoperability between Benewah Community Hospital, Bonner General Hospital, Boundary Community Hospital, Kootenai Medical Center, Shoshone Medical Center, and its 305 physician members.
Through the regional HIE, participating physicians and hospitals will be able to access and share patient health information (PHI) including lab and imaging results, orders, continuity of care documents, medication lists and other pertinent patient health information.
For physician practices currently using an EHR system, MobileMD, of Yardley, Pa., will integrate PHI directly into these disparate EHRs used across the medical community. In addition, the company will make its 4D Clinical Portal available to physician practices that haven't implemented EHR technology.
