Carolina eHealth Alliance demos Telus' HIE
The Carolina eHealth Alliance (CeHA) performed its first live demonstration of a new online patient information system and critical data exchange at Summerville Medical Center’s emergency department in Summerville, S.C.
According to Telus Health Solutions, the system will soon connect 11 emergency departments around the South Carolina coastal region, called the Lowcountry.
Emergency department physicians and nurse clinicians in Summerville were able to test the system with live patient information that was being exchanged between their emergency room and the Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University of South Carolina's emergency department, according to Telus of Longueuil, Quebec.
Telus reported it will be opening an office in Charleston next month.
