Brooklyn HIE rolls out InterSystems EHR
The Brooklyn Health Information Exchange (BHIX) is now providing EHR connectivity that is expected to speed up care delivery for clinicians in the network.
The functionality enables physicians to access patient records via Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems’ HealthShare-based BHIX network from the eClinicalWorks EHR, said BHIX Executive Director Irene Koch in a statement.
BHIX is an independent, nonprofit organization that facilitates patient-centered care within and across healthcare settings.
BHIX has rolled out connections to multiple sites and practices using the eClinicalWorks EHR. “Two new integrations—a sole practitioner and a group practice—are already under way and the next step will be to go live in a hospital. Certainly, some additional federally qualified health centers will have this technology by years-end,” Koch said.
