AHA, ONC show significant increases in data exchange
The electronic exchange of health information among non-federal acute care hospitals in the U.S. and outside providers has increased significantly across all data types from 2008 to 2014, according to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT and the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey IT Supplement.
Following are four key increases:
- Lab results have gone from 35 percent to 69 percent.
- Radiology reports have gone from 37 percent to 65 percent.
- Clinical care summaries have gone from 25 percent to 64 percent.
- Medication history has gone from 21 percent to 58 percent.
