International ransomware attacks like WannaCry and Petya are slowly becoming the norm in the healthcare space where data breaches almost seem routine, but the emergence of blockchain technology could secure healthcare systems and improve overall security. Blockchain, a list of records linked and secured with encryption, makes accessing large amounts data difficult due to the multiple different encryptions of data on each block of information.
