Children's medical records left outside Tenn. hospital

Eighty-seven families received notification from Erlanger Health System, saying their child's medical records were found outside the hospital.

The incident occurred on or around Jan. 14, according to WDEF-TV. The records contained names, addresses, phone numbers, diagnoses and Social Security numbers. The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based organization is working with local law enforcement officers and security experts to learn more. Erlanger's notification letter to patients said it has enhanced physical security and security training for their staff to prevent another incident.
