California hospital signs FairWarning

Methodist Hospital of Southern California, in Arcadia, Calif., has selected privacy auditor FairWarning to upgrade patient privacy in its EHR system.

The provider selected FairWarning to:
  • Comply with California’s AB 211 and SB 541 privacy regulations;
  • Fulfill HIPAA and HITECH privacy regulations; and
  • Automate investigations of potential privacy breaches.

FairWarning, of St. Petersburg, Fla., provides appliance-based software that monitors and protects patient privacy in EHRs. The company’s privacy auditing systems are compatible with applications from major vendors including Allscripts, Cerner, Epic, GE Healthcare, McKesson, Meditech and Siemens Healthcare, among others, FairWarning said.
