Medical AI is likely to pass along potentially dangerous misinformation when the distortion comes to the model from a normally trustworthy source using a convincingly authoritative voice. 

Solace Health, a company that connects patients with an "advocate" to help them navigate the U.S. healthcare system after a diagnosis, announced on Tuesday that it's earned $130 million in Series C funding, bringing its valuation to the coveted “unicorn status."

In a new poll, more insured adults listed receiving coverage approval for treatment and medications as the single largest burden they face when navigating the U.S. healthcare system than any other issue. KFF found that 47% experienced “denied, delayed or altered” patient care over the last two years. 

The insurer said Google’s Gemini was part of the new AI’s core development. The system will support customer service interactions by automatically summarizing calls and pulling up relevant information, without the need for manual input. The Google Cloud will be providing the necessary data security to ensure patient privacy, the companies added. 

The U.S. Department of Justice announced four more guilty pleas on Thursday, bringing the total to 12. The scheme involved providers paying kickbacks to patients, all employees of Amtrak, in exchange for billing their insurance for unnecessary medical care. The incidents happened between 2019 and 2022. 

The cyberattack was not discovered until October 2025, and a headcount of the victims is still being conducted. In the meantime, a patient of Sacramento-based One Community Health argues in a lawsuit that the nonprofit health system failed to secure his data, as required by law. The complaint is seeking class action status. 

No devices need to be returned or replaced, but the company did want to update their instructions for use. 

Both company shareholders and Chinese regulators have approved the sale, with TPG and Blackstone anticipating they'll take the reins by April.
