Telehealth organization receives reaccreditation by the Joint Commission

Specialists on Call, providers of acute care telemedicine, has received reaccreditation from the Joint Commission for compliance in ambulatory healthcare standards.

Specialists on Call was the first telemedicine organization to receive the Gold Seal of Approval of Approval for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation, meaning they continued to provide safe and effective patient care.

To achieve the reaccreditation, the organization retained compliance with nationally-reorganized standards of care and remained valid for three years. Specialists on Call was reaccredited on its compliance with ambulatory care standards regarding the coordination of care, physician credentialing, management of medications, monitoring of clinical quality, operational infrastructure, security and emergency procedures.

"As the first and longest-standing telemedicine organization to receive this accreditation, we are proud to uphold the same standards in patient care as the hospitals we support on a daily basis," said Tilman Jolly, chief medical officer of Specialists on Call. "We work around the clock to provide telehealth encounters for the purpose of transforming patients' lives while engaging partners with the same level of quality care and service they expect of their onsite physician care teams."
