Validic, Sutter Health partnership tests data transfer of wearables
Validic and Sutter Health have partnered together to conduct a pilot project to see how patient-generated health data (PGHD) can be shown to improve patient care and outcomes.
The collaboration focuses on the using Sutter’s Mpower app on patient smartphones and Validic’s VitaSnap to transfer data to provide patient data to improve efficiency when transferring information.
Patients with diabetes can especially benefit from remote monitoring wearables that can measure blood sugar and blood pressure. The data can then be sent to the patient’s physician, who can then alert the patient of an emergency and provide immediate care if needed.
The partnership enrolled patients from Sutter Health with Type II diabetes and gave them the Mpower app, which can sync with multiple devices that measure glucose levels, blood pressure and level of activity. The app then calculates the data in visual representations to motivate them to stay on track with their care and alert physicians when an emergency is detected.
