Thomson Reuters decides to stay in healthcare game

Thomson Reuters has shelved plans to sell its healthcare division due to economic conditions that will prevent the company from receiving what the company believes is a fair value for its profitable business.

The New York City-based company will wait until an economic climate more conducive to a divestiture develops to complete a sale, according to a Dec. 22, 2011 statement.

The unit had revenues of approximately $450 million in 2010; however, Thomson Reuters had been planning on selling its healthcare division since June 2011.
