'HealthLoop+ MD' App for iPhone enables doctors to keep in touch with their patients

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 13, 2015-- HealthLoop® released a new app of its doctor-patient engagement platform today. HealthLoop+ MD is another step forward in bringing the latest technology and innovation of next generation follow-up care to doctors and patients.

HealthLoop+ MD enables medical practices to provide every patient with a rich and thoughtful 5-star experience in follow-up care, significantly minimizing phone calls, phone tag, unnecessary doctor visits, and routine logistics. With the HealthLoop+ MD app, physicians now have the ability to get iPhone push notifications and badges to alert them when a patient triggers a clinical alert or when they receive a triage handoff from a colleague. HealthLoop+ MD also eliminates the need for yet another password by using the iPhone's built in Touch ID for authentication.

"HealthLoop is changing how healthcare is delivered. We are tearing down the walls of access and information; which is exactly what patients want. We believe that telephones have limited roles in a doctors office but smart technology is just beginning to scratch the surface," says founder, Dr. Jordan Shlain. "We help medical practices automate routine aspects of care. Each interaction is automatically documented in the HealthLoop activity feed, as well as the practice EMR, generating a detailed timeline of patient progress without incurring a single click."

HealthLoop+ MD strengthens the doctor-patient relationship with regular virtual check-ins that reinforce guidance, set expectations, promote self-care activities, and enable education about conditions at the right time. In addition, HealthLoop+ MD enhances comprehension, measures adherence, monitors for clinical risks, and measures functional outcomes. HealthLoop+ MD honors the latest evidence based medicine and blends it with an empathetic approach that guides patients through their recovery – anticipating common questions and concerns so that doctors can focus on their expertise. Most importantly, HealthLoop enables patients to maintain an on-going connection with their doctors between office visits with the HealthLoop app.

"Our robust library of 'loops' automates patient follow-up, blending the latest evidence-based medicine with an empathic digital dialogue that extends the purview of follow-up care beyond the four walls of medicine, into people's lives at home," says Todd Johnson, CEO of HealthLoop. "This is the next generation of thoughtful and technology enabled medical care – keeping doctors and patients 'in the loop.'"

The HealthLoop+ MD app is available for free at the App Store.
