Free mobile medication management tool available for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma
Hurricane Irma and Harvey have wiped out many healthcare facilities in areas affected by the storms, leaving many people without access to care. In response, DrFirst has offered a mobile perception platform for free to all prescribers.
Many healthcare facilities and pharmacies in southeast Texas and Florida have been flooded and unable to provide services to patients. The iPrescribe tool allows physicians to access patients medication history as well as important information regarding their care to offer care to patients who have been displaced. Physicians will be able to write electronic prescriptions to patients and direct them to open pharmacies to fill them. Emergency on-call registration is available for easy access to the platform.
"The practice of medicine cannot be put on hold because of natural disasters," said G. Cameron Deemer, president of DrFirst. "DrFirst wants to make its resources and technology available to all providers to help ensure care delivery. During a disaster, healthcare is paramount even when provider facilities are not available."
