With the increasing number of baby boomers entering their golden years, the healthcare field must be able to offer care to the aging population. With some needing more care than others, it can be difficult for both patient and physician to keep track of the medications and appointments. First Databank (FDB) is bringing technology to seniors in a way that helps manage care.

FDB is participating in Health 2.0 Conference and the pre-conference Code-A-Thon where its extensive library of knowledge will be available to coders. With the theme of the conference being “Building Technology to Help Seniors Manage Health Care and Costs,” FDB is providing access to its Cloud Connector web services to app developers.

During the two-day Code-A-Thon, developers will have access to FDB’s database to develop a prototype apps to help seniors better understand care and be more involved in their treatment. For seniors with many aliments, choosing a treatment plan can be confusing but these developers will have the chance to simplify the process for aging patients.
