FDA gives thumbs-up to Toshiba 1.5T MRI

The FDA has cleared Toshiba America Medical Systems' Vantage Titan 1.5T series, which features 8-, 16- and 32-channel MR systems.

The series offers an upgrade path from the 8-channel to the 32-channel system. In addition to these upgrades, the entire Titan 1.5T MR line is enhanced with a new exterior, including new covers and lighting around the bore, Toshiba said in a press release. The Titan 8-channel supports a variety of clinical applications, with features such as a 71 cm bore, Toshiba’s Pianissimo noise-reduction technology, non-contrast imaging, integrated coils with Octave Speeder technology and the M-Power user interface.

For providers that require enhanced cardiac imaging, the Titan line is upgradeable to a 16- or 32-channel system, according to the Tustin, Calif.-based company.
