Epic developing notification app for Apple Watch

Details are limited considering the EHR behemoth's notorious aversion to publicity, but Epic has developed an app patients that brings the functions of its patient portal to the Apple Watch.

Dubbed Limerick, the app lets clinicians receive immediate alerts via Apple Watch of test results and other time-sensitive information.

Epic filed a patent for Limerick on Feb. 22.
