CSC acquires Maricom Systems

CSC of Falls Church, Va., has acquired Baltimore-based Maricom Systems. Maricom Systems provides business intelligence and data management tools that support health IT systems within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition will allow CSC to expand its support of HHS initiatives to implement IT improvements in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The acquisition of Maricom will enhance CSC’s capabilities in healthcare informatics and data management, the company noted.

Maricom’s approximately 200 employees will become part of CSC’s Health Services business, which provides IT services, solutions, systems integration and operations support to HHS’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
