Carolinas HealthCare app cuts wait times by 64 percent
Utilizing the newest technology in the digital communications market, Carolinas HealthCare has developed its own app to reduce wait times and get patients in and out of the physician's office more quickly. The electronic reservation system is available at 28 locations across Carolina HealthCare System.
The app allows patients to make appointment without waiting in the waiting room. Patients are notified of their appointment time via a text message and notification. According to Carlinas HealthCare's initial results, the app has cut wait times by 64 percent across three pilot facilities.
The app is available on both Apple and Android products as well as tablets, laptops and desktop computers. It allows for patients to customize their appointments, logging in to find a menu of selections for the care they need. Patients can sort urgent care centers by proximity, 24-hour care, pediatrics available and pharmacy on site.
“Our top priority is to give our patients the best care possible so they can get back to their daily lives feeling better as soon as possible. We want to ensure their entire experience is outstanding along the way,” said Steve Jones, vice president, Carolinas HealthCare System’s urgent care division. “Through the new online reservation system, a parent tending to a sick child at home doesn’t have to leave home until it’s close to their urgent care reservation. Someone who’s sick at work doesn’t need to take time off to sit in an urgent care waiting room for hours.”
