Babyscripts program, Wisconsin health network announce partnership

Physicians at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will now have access to a mobile tool that monitors patients' progress during pregnancy.

The regional health network announced its new partnership with Babyscripts on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Babyscripts is a prenatal application and mobile clinical tool offered by several healthcare providers throughout the United States.

The program is only available through providers, which can sign patients up and encourage them to download the app. The app is used to guide women through their pregnancy, and depending on the provider care plan, patients may receive internet-connected medical devices.

Physicians can use those devices to track their patients' weekly progress and monitor data such as blood pressure, weight gain and glucose levels. They’ll also be alerted if anything is unusual.

“Patients who choose to use Babyscripts will get tips and information about nutrition, lifestyle and health specific to their individual gestational age as well as Froedtert & MCW clinical prenatal education materials,” a press release stated.

Froedtert & MCW will provide the program free to patients.

“Expectant patients are now able to access evidenced-based education anytime to guide them and give them more confidence about taking care of themselves during pregnancy,” Froedtert & MCW Maternal Fetal Specialist Meredith Cruz, MD, said in a statement. “We know that meeting our patients where they are and connecting in a personal and meaningful way outside of the clinic walls can improve the health and well-being of expectant moms and their babies.”
