Apple's Touch ID creator develops digital community for seniors

Scott Moody, the inventor of Apple’s ID Touch technology that is used to unlock users iPhones through scanning unique fingerprints, has entered the space of elderly care with K4Community.

Co-founder of AuthenTec, a mobile and network security company, Moody developed K4Community to fill lonely gap in senior care. The K4Community application, which is compatible with smartphones and tablets, brings home control, social media, news and video together on a single platform.

“Advancements in technology for elder care are more important than ever,” Moody told Forbes. "There are close to 1.5 billion older adults and people living with disabilities in the world today, a market segment expected to grow to nearly 28 percent of the world’s population by 2050. That’s an enormous segment of society currently underserved by technology.”
