Siemens inks dose management deal

Siemens Healthcare has signed an agreement to incorporate Radimetrics' radiation dose management and reporting system into syngo Workflow RIS.

When combined with syngo Workflow RIS, the system captures radiation dose information in a diagnostic report. The integration will help hospitals and imaging centers to comply with dose monitoring requirements, according to Siemens and Radimetrics.

The system features a cumulative dose tracking scorecard, a dosimetry worksheet that incorporates a simulation engine, protocol management tools with support for multiple scanners, and dose reporting dashboards.

Boston Scientific has announced another significant M&A deal, scooping up an Israeli medtech company focused on RDN technology.

Harvard’s David A. Rosman, MD, MBA, explains how moving imaging outside of hospitals could save billions of dollars for U.S. healthcare.

The recall comes after approximately 3% of patients treated with the device during the early stages of its U.S. rollout experienced a stroke or transient ischemic attack following surgery. The expected stroke rate is closer to 1%, the FDA explained.
