Hospitals, physicians want ACA to remain unchanged
Hospitals, physicians and health insurers are hoping the Supreme Court rules in favor of the defendant in the King v. Burwell case, NPR reports.
The plaintiff argues that people should not receive subsidies to offset the costs of coverage bought on health insurance exchanges in states in which the federal government operates the exchanges. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the plaintiff, approximately 7 million people would lose their health insurance because they cannot afford to pay for coverage.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case on March 4.
