Twine takes interactive approach to managing chronic conditions
As a country that spends more than $3 trillion every year on healthcare, the U.S. continues to see overall spending increase, in part because chronic diseases become more and more prevalent. Twine Health has created a methodology that helps patients control these long-lasting conditions.
Twine Health has developed software that aims to help patients improve healthy behaviors through action planning, data-informed collaboration and machine learning that allows patients to achieve their personalized health goals. With only three in 10 patients having control over their chronic conditions, Twine Health hopes to keep patients engaged in their care and collaborate with their care team.
Three months after Twine's methods for controlling blood pressure was implemented at Massachusetts General Hospital, 100 percent of patients were able to control their diseases with an average of a 26-point drop in mmHg. When implemented at Joslin Diabetes Center, patients had an average 3.2 drop in HbA1c in three months at a cost that was 40 percent less than normal.
