Therap’s claims, billing systems join electronic medicaid billing system

Therap, providers of documentation and electronic billing services, has been integrated with Ohio disability providers to implement the new Flat File feature, giving providers the ability to upload 837 claims to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities eMBS portal.

Currently, providers have to enter information manually on a single claim into the state system, but the new feature allows providers to upload multiple claim files in a single step. Providers using Therap are also able to include demographics, person-centered individual support plans and care plans in their documentation. The new Flat File feature quickens the process of documentation of service delivery and claims process to providers. The billing system is able to automatically export claims in the ANSI X12 837 format and billing data can be generated using case notes, attendance data, manual entry, or goal tracking documentation.

The claim process meets HIPAA Version 5010 standards for electronic claim transactions and the billing system has options for daily, weekly or monthly capture.

HHS has thought through the ways AI can and should become an integral part of healthcare, human services and public health. Last Friday—possibly just days ahead of seating a new secretary—the agency released a detailed plan for getting there from here.
