Keeping patients educated and engaged in their own care has proven to lower admission rates and improve patient satisfaction. SONIFI Health has announced a partnership with St. Mary Medical Center to implement its Interactive Television Services in every patient room within the Apple Valley, California, medical center.

Partnered with the Meditech EMR, the SONIFI interactive TV system delivers educational information on patients' specific conditions, courses of treatment and medications in the form of interactive videos. Patients can also complete quizzes on the information they learned about to test their medical knowledge on their care.

The system includes many other features including submitting requests through the Vocera nurse call system, ordering food through computrition, listening to music and learning relaxation techniques. All content is available in multiple languages so any patients can take advantage of these interactive systems.

"We needed to replace our current interactive system, and SONIFI Health was clearly the right choice for our hospital," said Michelle Goodrow, Executive Director at St. Mary Medical Center. "The SONIFI system will integrate with several of our hospital systems to personalize and streamline the care process for each patient."
