Financial pressures cause rural hospitals to close

Since 2010, 48 rural hospitals have closed, while hundreds more face financial pressures, Kaiser Health News reports.

Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, hospitals have seen their federal reimbursement decline. They have also had decreases in payments for the uninsured.
