Can software reduce unnecessary spending in healthcare industry?

Technology can improve organization of patient files, create limbs with 3D printers and connect patients and doctors around the world. Jon Markman, president of Markman Capital Insight, thinks that technology just might be able to cure healthcare.

Markman analyzes how large healthcare companies, such as Kaiser Permanente and Anthem, have utilized the power of technology to save money and keep patients healthy. For example, Kaiser Permanente’s HealthConnect software has mastered data exchange and maintaining digital records for all of its facilities, saving the company $1 billion.

“As the process unfolds, cost savings for industry and lower prices for consumers is likely. It will also create many new businesses and give investors many new opportunities,” wrote Markman. “That’s a good reason to be optimistic.”
