Stories about the horrors of electronic health records (EHRs) are aplenty—with three physicians writing letters to the Wall Street Journal.

But one response emphasizes the patient's point of view, which can paint EHRs in a much better light. Fred Butzen wrote to the WSJ about he felt going for a routine checkup to a physician with a well-implemented EHR system. He was able to witness his physician order ultrasounds and blood tests, and then see the results through images and discuss results with his doctor.

“He spent his time talking with and listening to me. The time we spent together was productive,” wrote Butzen.
