A hospital in Flint, Mich., has gotten roped into the town's water crisis via a threat from the hacktivist group Anonymous.

The group said it would go after those responsible for the water crisis which has led to hundreds of lead poisoning cases in children and dozens of instances of Legionnaires' disease. The next day Hurley Medical Center confirmed a cyberattack, according to an MLive report.

"Hurley Medical Center has IT systems in place, which aid in detecting a virus or cyber attack," Ilene Cantor, Hurley spokesperson, told MLive. "As such, all policies and protocols were followed in relation to the most-recent cyberattack on our system. Patient care was not compromised and we are closely monitoring all systems to ensure IT security is consistently maintained."

Both city and state police representatives said the hospital had issued no notification of the attack, according to MLive.
