HFMA announces 2017 revenue cycle awards

Seventeen healthcare organizations have been named winners of the 2017 MAP Award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

The award recognizes providers which have “excelled in meeting industry standard revenue cycle benchmarks (MAP Keys), implemented the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA's Best Practices for Patient Financial Communications, and achieved outstanding patient satisfaction.”

Among the repeat winners this year was Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS).

“As a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system, Presbyterian Healthcare Services aims to improve health, provide an exceptional experience and lower the cost of care for our patients and members,” PHS CFO and Vice President Renee Ennis, said to HealthExec. “Receiving the MAP Award for the third year in a row demonstrates our commitment to our patients and members and to easing their way to better health.”

The winners this year included seven individual hospitals:

  • Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, Portland, Ore.
  • Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Mass.
  • Murray-Calloway County Hospital, Murray, Ky.
  • Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, Ala.
  • OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio
  • St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburg, Pa.
  • St. Luke’s Hospital, Chesterfield, Mo.

Four integrated delivery systems:

  • CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, Tyler, Texas
  • Geisinger Health System, Danville, Pa.
  • Presbyterian Healthcare Services, Albuquerque, N.M.
  • Saint Francis Health System, Tulsa, Okla.

Four physician practices:

  • ENT & Allergy Associates, LLP, Tarrytown, N.Y.
  • Privia Medical Group, Arlington, Va.
  • St. Elizabeth Physicians, Crestview Hills, Ky.
  • Virginia Eye Institute, Richmond, Va.

And two hospital systems:

  • Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, Calif.
  • St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, Ky.

The formal presentation of the awards will take place at HFMA’s ANI conference in Orlando, which runs from June 25 to 28.
