Joint Commission promotes two to executive status
The Joint Commission, a nonprofit organization that accredits and certifies healthcare organizations, has promoted two employees to executive positions that will oversee the business development and marketing divisions.
Patrick Phelan, MBA, will serve as executive director of hospital business development, and Julia Finken, RN, MBA, will be the executive director of behavioral health care and psychiatric hospital accreditation, according to a Feb. 23 press release from the organization. Both will report to Brian Enochs, the executive vice president of business development and marketing.
Phelan, who was previously the associate director of business development, will be responsible for growth initiatives in the organization’s hospital accreditation program. Finken, who was the associate director of home care accreditation, will serve as the primary representative to behavioral health organizations and industry leaders.
“Patrick and Julia truly distinguished themselves as associate directors of business development both in terms of performance as well as their leadership within their prior organizations,” Enochs said. “Given the continuing importance of these two customer groups, we feel that having Patrick and Julia in these leadership roles will reinforce and significantly strengthen our work to serve both providers and patients in these areas. I am pleased to welcome them to the division leadership team.”
