Therapon develops nanoparticles with UV protection of SPF 5,000

Who needs SPF 50 when you can soon get SPF 5,000? Therapon Skin Health has developed silicon particles that absorb 98 percent of ultraviolet radiation (UVA and UVB).

The nanoclusters are colorless on the skin and have the effectiveness of SPR 5,000. While still needing testing before being produced for use, these particles are poised to revolutionize the way we protect out skin from the sun. When applied at an early age, the particles can protect from melanoma and all types of skin cancers.

The nanoclusters are made using lasers that vaporize sand at 5,000 degrees to produce pure silicon kernels that form a coating of silicon oxide when cooled. The size and make-up of the particles give them quantum physics properties that trap energy waves from sunlight as particles.
