Mobile app to provide tools for women with endometriosis

Flutter Health, developed by Kristy Curry, provides early screening for endometriosis and other reproductive disease for women who need it most. As an 8-year sufferer of endometriosis herself, Curry developed the app to allow women to take control of their health outside of a physician's office.

The app is currently available for iOS smartphones, and an Android app is in development. The app currently includes a journal and calendar feature where women can record symptoms, moods and fluctuations over the course of their reproductive cycles. When it’s time for an appointment with a physician, women can export data into a PDF format to share with their healthcare professionals.

“Flutter allows you to track your symptoms, take a self-diagnosis test and find an endometriosis doctor who will help you. It’s a way to keep tabs on your health versus just going to your annual appointment like it is a mandatory oil change,” wrote Curry in Flutter Health’s press kit. “I want the app to allow women to be in control of their health, to be proactive.”

The app is a part of a web of tool for users including a website, blog and YouTube channel where women are given access to nutrition information, exercise tips and relaxation techniques. There is also a community feature and clinician portal to connect users with their care team in development.

“I envision the Flutter community growing as a supportive forum for women to share,” Curry said. “I want women to be empowered, proactive and, most of all, supportive. The more we talk about women’s reproductive health the faster we solve problems.”
