Via Christi to conduct search for CEO, president after Korsmo steps down

Jeff Korsmo, president and CEO of Via Christi Health, has announced he has accepted a position with Essentia Health in Duluth, Minn. He had been leading the company for more than four years.

Based in Wichita, Kan., and representing the state’s largest provider of healthcare services, Via Christi fully integrated with Ascension Health in 2013, with Korsmo playing an integral role in the transition. He also led efforts to expand Medicaid in Kansas. He was instrumental in creating a joint venture with Mercy to provide primary care to residents in Pittsburg, Kan.

Todd Conkin, COO of Via Christi, will serve as interim president and CEO while the firm conducts a national search for its new leader. Conklin has been with Via Christi since October 2015, serving in both operational and financial executive roles.
