WEDI conducts survey on industry attachments

The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) is conducting a survey on electronic claims attachments to assess the industry standard.

"WEDI is conducting this attachments survey to determine the industry status in attachment[s], which has a compliance date of Jan 1, 2016. This shortened version concentrates on key items of interest," the survey stated.

Questions include inquiries on claims volume and types of claims handled (Medicaid fee-for-service, workers compensation, etc.) and what type of claims attachements that are requested from providers (medications, rehab notes, etc.).

The gathered information will go to recommending standards on attachment types frequently used in the healthcare industry. The survey is open to all organizations, both WEDI members and non-members  All answers will be kept anonymous.

The Reston, Va.-based organization will be offering to payors and providers the online survey through April 13. Before going online, WEDI asks respondents to review the survey and gather their answers. "If your organization has significant operations that fit more than one type of entity, we ask that you please complete a separate survey for each operation," WEDI noted.
