Medsender, Patagonia Health team up to aid public health efforts against COVID-19

A vendor that supplies EHR software to public health agencies is partnering with a health-tech startup in the cloud-communications space to equip state and local governments for managing their response to the COVID-19 crisis.

The cloud company, San Fran-based Medsender, says the collaboration will allow provider clients of the EHR vendor, Patagonia Health out of North Carolina, to automatically triage incoming COVID patients while aggregating data from all such patients.

Patagonia’s chief customer officer, Sonali Luniya, says most communications involving public health departments still rely on fax. The new partnership will help these departments transition to digital communications, she adds, as well as formulate data-driven strategies on COVID response.

Medsender says its provider partners don’t need to install any software or change any workflows, freeing them up to “focus on patient care instead of IT woes during the pandemic.”
