HIMSS20 cancelled over coronavirus risks

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has cancelled its 2020 conference scheduled for March 9-13 in Orlando, Florida, due to concerns and risks over the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

The association announced the decision on March 5, just a day after officials stated it would continue on with the conference as scheduled. HIMSS took into account reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as additional experts in this area when making its decision.

The European Society of Radiology conference scheduled for March 11-15 in Vienna was also recently cancelled.
