A dozen plaintiffs filed a complaint this week, accusing the pharmacy benefit manager of failing to reimburse them for prescriptions at a rate that covers restocking costs.

In March, a U.S. District Court judge agreed with hospital plaintiffs who claimed in a lawsuit that the A-to-F grading system was deceptive, with those that chose to engage in enhanced data sharing receiving higher rankings. Leapfrog has defended its methodology, arguing the grades are constitutionally protected opinions. 

Zakia Khan, 55, from New York City pleaded guilty to billing Medicaid for unnecessary patient services, paying coconspirators illegal kickbacks in exchange for referrals. Her businesses earned roughly $56 million in fraudulent reimbursement, the DOJ said.

The details come from the New York Times, whose reporters found that Sen. Roger Marshall, MD, (R-KS) sued patients for as little as $101 during his two decades working as an OB-GYN.

Oleksii Oleksiyovych Lytvynenko, 44, was arrested in Ireland in 2023. As part of the cybercrime group linked to the deployment of Conti, Lytvynenko was found to have possessed data from 12 victims. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. 

The 2025 data breach exposed records on 2.7 million patients. The cybercrime syndicate Interlock claimed credit for the attack, posting its stolen bounty on the dark web shortly after the incident.

A former senior director at Optum has been found guilty for his role in a scam by which a friend received a six-figure salary despite doing no work. The verdict included a conviction for money laundering as well as fraud.
