Obama supports 'Medicare for All' in speech

Speaking to a crowd at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, former President Barack Obama stated his support for "Medicare for All" last week.

“Democrats aren't just running on good, old ideas like a higher minimum wage. They're running on good, new ideas like Medicare for All," he said during the speech. 

The endorsement was a turn from Obama’s years in office, during which time the former president and Democrats rejected Medicare for All.

He also called out Republicans for “sabotaging” the Affordable Care Act.
