Zargis to provide remote stethoscope system to Ontario Telemedicine Network
Zargis Medical, a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus, has signed an agreement with the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) to provide the delivery and testing of Zargis' telemedicine stethoscope system.
The nonprofit OTN provides access to care for patients in every hospital in Ontario and hundreds of other healthcare locations across the province.
The core component of Zargis' telemedicine stethoscope system, Zargis TeleSteth, is a component of the Zargis Cardioscan heart sounds analysis software and the Zargis StethAssist heart and lung sounds visualization software, the Stamford, Conn.-based Zargis Medical stated. TeleSteth allows healthcare professionals to share heart, lung and airway sounds with colleagues anywhere using the internet or a private network, Zargis said.
TeleSteth is designed to be accessed from a user's PC via a standard internet browser. For organizations that require users to access stethoscope sounds from within a private network, TeleSteth can be deployed using Zargis' enterprise server platform, the company added.
