U.K. hospital purchases Siemens 3T MRI

Russells Hall Hospital in England has installed Siemens Healthcare's Magnetom Verio 3T MRI and inked a 15-year IT service contract with the company.

Russells Hall Hospital, part of The Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Dudley, England, bought the scanner as part of a Management Equipment Service partnership with Summit Healthcare and Siemens, said Siemens. The hospital will use the MRI system for orthopedics, neuroimaging, oncology, arterial systems and whole body scans.

The 3T Magnetom Verio features a 70 cm bore and can capture scans of up to 196 cm, the Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens stated.
