Tech vendors should focus on implementation over experimentation

The healthcare industry can seem overloaded with new technological experiments, but companies focusing on implementation are ahead of the game, according to Forbes' David Shaywitz.

Whether the technology in question is artificial intelligence, wearables or telehealth, vendors focusing easy implementation are taking the extra step toward improved care. In the current medical landscape, technologies are being introduced without the implementation capabilities that allow healthcare systems to utilize them.

“While some consultants suggest we are further along than even their extravagantly optimistic predictions of 2013 had imagined, my own conversations with a range of stakeholders suggests progress has been painfully slow, and the practice of both medicine and drug development generally have not felt the impact of these emerging technologies, to put it very politely,” wrote Shaywitz.
