The d.health Executive Summit will assemble health, technology, finance and policy leaders to discuss the best ideas, form partnerships and launch the care models of the future, particularly focused on the growing interest in aging at home.

The May 4 event at The New York Academy of Sciences will feature more than 10 CEOs and numerous thought leaders who are disrupting healthcare to modernize homecare, provide virtual visits into the home, transform the insurance industry, redesign and reframe successful aging, and revolutionize medical education.

"Fueled by advances in technology, individuals with virtually any condition can now be seen by a remote specialist over the internet," said Senator Tom Daschle, a member of the meeting advisory board. "This next generation house call is providing millions of Americans unprecedented care, convenience and comfort. However, outdated public policies are preventing more than 50 million Medicare beneficiaries from receiving this care at home."

"Care can and should move out of the hospital," said Bruce Leff, MD, geriatrician and director for the Center for Transformative Geriatric Research at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Leff, also a member of the d.health Advisory Board, stated, "As the health system shifts to value-based care, home care will challenge the traditional, facility-based model."
