Siemens gains FDA clearance for urinary tract imaging technology

Siemens Healthcare now is offering a new multi-functional workstation for urology, the Uroskop Omnia, which has just received FDA clearance.

The workstation’s flat detector technology will allow urologists to scan the kidney, ureter and bladder with one exposure. The technology offers a curved x-ray column and high-definition VideoManager with various interfaces, allowing endoscopy or ultrasound equipment to be connected for the display of images side-by-side with x-ray or fluoroscopy, said the Malvern, Pa.-based company.
